Most of the extra effort I put into contract drafting goes unnoticed. The minutiae. Formatting, styling, and other small details.
Some might say it’s “form over function” — that these are things with no bearing on the substantive effect of the agreement.
Maybe so, maybe not. For me, I’m just proud of getting everything right, even down to the size of a comma. It’s a level of attention that I strive to bring into whatever I do.
In less of a professional context: I scrub my boxing hand-wraps with soap and water after every use. I airdry them and eventually roll them up neatly once dried. Every. Single. Time.
It’s a time-consuming process. Not to mention that just the act of putting the hand-wraps on takes forever as well. So most people would rather skip the wraps altogether, or only wash them once in a while.
I’m not even a serious boxer (like, just a touch more than total beginner), but I go through the rigmarole anyway. Because it’s a tradition at this point. A ritual, perhaps?
My younger self took a ton of shortcuts, so he would be shocked that I’m as meticulous as I am today (at least with this particular activity). And for seemingly no good reason.
The transition from taking the easy way out, investing the bare minimum efforts in getting things done and taking pride to being so meticulous in everyday things is phenomenal I believe.
There are days when I still take the easy way out but I know that I could have done better because I know what great work looks like...
As you said, the perfect formatting might go unnoticed but you will know that you gave your best for it to look like that.
Plus, perfect formatting might go unnoticed but the imperfect one doesn't receives the same lack of attention.
I mean will have to take another day just to reply what i feel or what this has made an impact but before that i need to ask my maa for did she still has my sweaters....

But I dunno… I just kinda enjoy the process. 😌
