My Personal Philosophy
Rules are meant to be broken. But rules are also meant to be created so that you can navigate chaos. These are 30 rules that I try to live by. Some of them are still a work in progress but I strive to ace them.
If it’s not a 100% YES then it’s a NO.
Forgive but don’t forget.
Trust your instincts, they are often right for a reason.
Think like a villain, not the victim.
Write first and always.
Take accountability through actions, not just words. Avoid saying ‘I am sorry.’
Give credit when credit is due.
Never go anywhere without a pen.
Cover your bases when you lie.
Live up to your small promises.
Be on time.
Don’t screw over a friend.
Be open to questions.
Trust but verify.
Always be interested in something.
Best way to keep a secret is to keep it to yourself, the second best is to tell one other person, the third best doesn’t exist.
If it feels like you’re being played, you probably are.
It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for forgiveness.
Don’t entertain BS. Leave if you have to.
Pass a smile to kids below 2 years.
Speed over perfection.
If something feels hinky, trace back your steps and see what you missed.
Write when you feel too much and read when you feel too little.
Don’t try to lose small, try to win big.
Being passive aggressive is pointless.
Fuck around and figure out.
Overconfidence over underconfidence any day.
Explore on foot.
When you think of someone and smile. Drop them a text.
Following every single rule gets you nowhere.
